Amelia Hogan & The DulciMates – NEW DATE: Sun 22Oct @ 6pm PDT
NEW DATE! Sunday October 22nd, 2023 -- 6:00pm PDT / 9:00pm EDT
Amelia Hogan and The DulciMates (DJ Hamouris & Buffalo) join forces to share favorite Celtic, British, and American folk songs, weaving in contemporary & original tunes. Starting with the inspiration of “Taking Flight”, Amelia’s new album, the music ranges from Australia to California. Three voices and twomountain dulcimers create a unique concert for a Sunday!
Amelia is an impeccably authentic singer of Celtic music, and her heartcomes through in honeyed tones on Irish, Scottish, British, and American-styled vocals. She sings in the Irish music tradition of Sean-Nós, or “old style”, a highly lyrical solo a cappella style, as well as with accompaniment, plays bodhran and a small 22-string Welsh lap harp, and has toured internationally to global acclaim.
DJ & Buffalo are spouses making beautiful music together for over 40 years. DJ plays diatonic, chromatic, and baritone mountain dulcimer. She’s a teacher, singer-songwriter, and producer of Dulcimoon Virtual Dulcimer Festival, with 7 albums and 2 books of dulcimer music. Buffalo is a practicing psychotherapist with an eccentric musical taste and remarkable bari-tenor singing voice. Their repertoire spans from the middle ages to just yesterday.
